One of the more unexpected things at the weekend plugs into the wall. Tracey Peake works with PEMF — a technology-led take on rest and recovery that sits a little apart from the crystals and cards.
Tracey is a PEMF practitioner working with OlyLife, under the banner “Charge Your Cells.” It’s one of the more modern, equipment-based offerings you’ll find in the hall.
What PEMF is, plainly
PEMF stands for Pulsed Electromagnetic Field. In practice it usually means lying on or near a mat that delivers gentle, pulsing magnetic fields — you don’t feel much, if anything. It’s used in wellness and recovery settings for relaxation and general wellbeing, and it appeals to people who like a measured, low-effort form of self-care: you’re essentially resting while the device does its thing.
Try it rather than read about it
This is a try-before-you-understand modality. The easiest way to get PEMF is to experience a short session rather than have it explained, so Tracey’s stand is the place to do that if you’re curious about the more tech-forward end of wellness. A few minutes will tell you more than a paragraph can.
Something to try before you come
Whatever you make of the technology, the principle underneath it is sound: your body does its best repair work when it’s genuinely at rest, and most of us don’t give it enough uninterrupted chances. So here’s the low-tech version — once this week, lie flat on the floor (not the sofa) for five minutes with your eyes closed and your phone in another room. No app, no goal. Flat-on-the-floor rest lands differently from slumping, and it’s a reminder that recovery is something you can schedule, not just hope for.
Tracey brings OlyLife to the Mind Body Spirit & Wellness Weekend, Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 September 2026 at Stockport Masonic Guildhall — one of over 70 readers, healers and stallholders across the two days. Everything across the weekend is included with entry.
