A mind body spirit weekend isn’t only readings and healing — some of it is simply people finding each other. That’s where Katherine Rosati comes in.
Katherine is the founder of the Stockport Women’s Networking Group (SWNG), which she built to connect women across Stockport and the wider area. At an event whose whole point is that you can walk in on your own and not feel alone, having someone in the room whose actual work is connection is a quiet asset.
What SWNG actually is
Networking has a slightly corporate ring to it — all business cards and lift pitches. SWNG is closer to the opposite: a supportive local network for women to meet, share what they’re working on, and back one another, whether that’s a business, a creative project or a change of direction. It runs on the same instinct as the weekend itself — that people do better when they’re not doing it all on their own.
Why it belongs at a wellness weekend
Loneliness and isolation aren’t only social problems; they weigh on how people feel day to day. A lot of visitors come to an event like this partly to feel part of something for an afternoon. Katherine’s spot is a natural first stop if you’ve arrived by yourself and want a friendly face before you dive into the workshops.
Something to try before you come
Here’s a small thing that makes walking into a room full of strangers far easier — and it’s what good networkers do without thinking. Don’t set out to be interesting; set out to be interested. Decide in advance on one genuine question you’ll ask whoever you end up beside — “what brought you here today?” is plenty. It takes the pressure off performing and puts it on listening, which is both easier and far more likely to start a real conversation. Try it in any queue this week.
Katherine brings SWNG to the Mind Body Spirit & Wellness Weekend, Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 September 2026 at Stockport Masonic Guildhall — one of over 70 readers, healers and stallholders across the two days. Everything across the weekend is included with entry.
